You have all been patiently waiting for me to get back to my usually peppy and sassy self, and I want to say thank you. You all have been extremely supportive and kind while I’ve been under my covers hiding from the world. I can’t say it enough, thank you so much for being so supportive.
So this post is special for 2 reasons. First, I am finally back and I wanted to let you know that the posts are coming. I think I have 3 recommendations, the audio dramas for new listeners, and the interview that’s scheduled for today. I know what I’m writing about, I just have to write them, so continue to bear with me. The second reason is because I have an update for Podcation, formerly Podcamp.
A few weeks ago, I emailed Chris from Podcation to ask him a few questions. It was surprisingly good timing because he was getting ready to send out a press release answering one of my questions, a question I’m sure you are all wanting an answer to: Who is going to be involved with the creation of Jupiter Saloon? But before I share that, I asked Chris a few questions about the applications that Podcation received.
Was the Response to Podcation what you expected?
The response that we got was far, far beyond what we could have expected. Patrick and I figured that for this first go around we’d have to beg our friends to come do it with us. But the podcast creators community — and specifically the Audio Drama community — really got what we were trying to do and helped us tell our story.
How may applications did you receive?
We ended up with 44 killer applications. Seriously, every single one of those applicants had skills and energy to contribute to this project. When the applications closed, it was actually 42, exactly. I took that as some sort of cosmic guidepost that we were doing something right because of the significance of “42” in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, which is a huge touchpoint for what we’re trying to do with Jupiter Saloon. But then two people emailed us after the deadline so we had to sacrifice a bit of numerological significance in the name of volume.
And now, the part you have been waiting for:
The Team for Podcation 2018
Things seem to be in order for Podcation to kick off on June 29th. I cannot wait to listen to Jupiter Saloon!
